How to Plan Your Bedroom Layout

When you’re trying to figure out where everything should go in your bedroom, the main goal is to balance the furniture you actually use with enough floor space so you don’t feel boxed in. If you stick to pieces that are functional and have a clean look, you can keep the room from feeling messy while still having everything you need for your morning and night routines.

It usually works best to just focus on a couple of well-made items instead of trying to stuff something into every empty corner. This really leans into that idea that keeping things simple is the best way to make a space feel high-end. It also lets the quality of your furniture stand out and makes the whole room feel a lot more restful.

• Start by picking one main piece to anchor the room, like the Signature or Essential bed frame.
• Get a nightstand that matches or a desk so you have a spot for your things without it looking messy.
• Use things like the Classic Underbed Drawer or the Nest Storage System to keep your gear put away and out of sight.

Featured Thuma Bedroom Highlights

When you’re picking out furniture, you want stuff that looks good right away but is also built well enough to last. Thuma seems to focus on exactly that. They use some pretty smart engineering to make sure everything they make works as a solid, reliable base for your home.

Hybrid Mattress

The Thuma Hybrid Mattress is built with several different layers to help take the pressure off your joints while making sure you don’t overheat at night. It’s a solid choice if you’re looking for something made with more natural materials like organic latex and wool. Plus, it’s sized specifically to sit perfectly on their own bed frames.

• The organic wool and TENCEL™ cover work together to help with airflow and keep you cool.
• It uses memory foam and coils made from recycled steel, which helps keep the bed steady when someone moves and gives the edges a bit more support.
• It carries GREENGUARD Gold and OEKO-TEX® certifications, so it’s tested for low chemical emissions.
• You can try it out for 100 days, and if you don’t like it, they’ll take it back for free.
• It comes in a single box that’s pretty easy to carry around tight corners or up a flight of stairs.

You get free shipping in the lower 48 states if your order is over $1,000, and they currently have the mattress discounted by 18%.

Pillowboard

The Pillowboard is basically a mix between a headboard and a big, comfortable pillow. It’s made to fit the Classic and Essential bed frames perfectly. This is a really nice option if you spend time reading or just hanging out in bed and want something soft to lean against that still looks sharp.

• It has a tapered shape and uses CertiPUR-US foam, so it actually supports your back while you lounge.
• You can swap out the covers, choosing between a performance linen or a felt made from recycled Italian wool.
• It’s GREENGUARD Gold certified, which is good to know if you’re concerned about indoor air quality.
• Since it only weighs about 9 to 15 pounds, it’s easy to move or change the cover when you want a new look.
• If it’s your first time buying one, you get a 30-day trial to see if it works for you.

Right now, there’s a 13.33% discount on the Pillowboard, and it ships for free if your total order is over $1,000.

Cotton Percale Sheet Set

These sheets are made in Portugal using 100% cotton, giving them that crisp, cool feel you usually only get at nice hotels. They’re a really good pick if you’re looking for something that lasts a long time and won’t make you overheat while you’re trying to sleep.

Because they’ve been pre-washed, they have a soft, comfortable feel right away. They’re basically made for anyone who wants high-quality bedding that feels sturdy but still lets the air flow through.

• The 100% cotton is pre-washed, so it’s already soft and comfy the first time you use it.
• The fabric breathes naturally, which is great for staying cool throughout the night.
• They’ve got the OEKO-TEX Class 2 certification, so you know they’ve been checked for harmful chemicals.
• Cleaning them is easy since you can just use a washing machine and a low tumble dry.
• You get a 30-day window to try them out if it’s your first purchase to see if they’re right for you.

Right now, these are 15.38% off. Also, if your whole order is over $1,000, they’ll ship them for free anywhere in the contiguous US.

Choosing the Right Fabrics for Your Thuma Space

Picking out the right fabrics for your bed is actually a pretty big deal. The way your sheets feel has a direct impact on how well you sleep and how hot or cold you get during the night. By choosing the right material, you can basically customize your bed to fit whatever feels best to you.

The brand has a few different high-quality fabrics, and each one does something a little different. Whether you need something that lets the air flow on hot nights or you want something heavier for the winter, these options let you set up your room exactly how you like it.

• European Linen: This has a breathable, textured feel and is made to get softer every time you wash it.
• Cotton Percale: This is crisp and cool to the touch, which is great if you’re someone who tends to overheat while sleeping.
• Cocoon Cotton: A much softer, plush option for anyone who wants to feel extra cozy and warm.

Professional Design Guidance and Services

Thuma offers a few different ways to help you plan your bedroom if you aren’t sure where to start. These services are mostly there to help you choose pieces that actually fit your room’s specific layout and the style you’re trying to create.

Buying large furniture online can feel a little risky, so being able to talk to a professional helps take some of that pressure off. It’s a useful way to make sure that whatever you end up buying is actually going to work for your home and how you live.

• Their Personal Concierge Services are available if you need specific design advice or have questions about styling.
• You can set up a virtual appointment to talk to someone, or you can visit one of their physical stores in SoHo, Chestnut, or Melrose for an in-person consultation.
• They also have a digital catalog called Volume 04 that you can flip through if you just need some visual inspiration or want to see how the pieces look in different settings.
