A Quick Look at Blacklyte
Where Blacklyte Comes From
Blacklyte is a Canadian gaming furniture brand founded in 2021. Alex Liu is named as its Founder and CEO in the StarLadder release for the Budapest Major. The company runs separate stores for the US, Canada, Europe, the UK, Australia and Japan, so if you are in the United States, shop at blacklyte.com.
The Esports Connection
Most of what you will read about Blacklyte traces back to professional gaming, because that is where the brand has put its name. Four dated announcements show the pattern:
- Fnatic (Sep 24, 2024): a multi year deal making Blacklyte the team’s official gaming chair and desk partner.
- BLAST (announced Oct 30, 2024): global chair and desk partner for 2025 across five titles: Rainbow Six, Counter Strike, Dota, Rocket League and Fortnite.
- StarLadder Budapest Major (Nov 14, 2025): official furniture partner, with the Athena Pro chair and Atlas Lite desk at player setups.
- Team Vitality (announced late April 2026): official chair and desk partner for all nine of the club’s rosters.
This is also why you will see team branded versions of Blacklyte chairs in its store.
Which Chair Fits How You Sit?
Blacklyte’s two main chairs, the Athena Pro and the Kraken Pro, differ mainly in lumbar design, head pillow and upholstery.
Athena Pro Gaming Chair
The Athena Pro is Blacklyte’s flagship chair, aimed at gamers and home office users who want lumbar support built into the backrest instead of strapped on. It is also the base for Blacklyte’s team and event editions, and it was one of the chairs used at player setups during the StarLadder Budapest Major in November 2025. It is listed as a regular fit, one size fits most, so check the dimensions on the product page if you are particularly tall or compact.
- Built in 4 way lumbar support, so there is no separate cushion to position.
- Dual magnetic head pillow for neck support.
- Upgraded dual layer memory foam seat, medium firm with a soft cushion top.
- 4D armrests, a 90° to 149° recline and up to 14° of rocking.
- Blacklyte FlexKnit fabric or DuraGen leatherette, on an aluminum alloy wheelbase with a Class 4 gas lift.
Standard colors are $499 on the US store at the time of writing, while team and event editions run from $439 to $599. Blacklyte lists free shipping, 30 day returns and a warranty of up to 5 years, and the chair is also included in the brand’s current chair and desk bundles.
Kraken Pro Gaming Chair
The Kraken Pro is Blacklyte’s premium chair, built for people who want a floating lumbar design instead of the Athena Pro’s fixed 4 way lumbar. Blacklyte’s homepage presents the current version as back by demand and re engineered. It is also the chair the brand features alongside its role as BLAST’s global chair and desk partner.
- Dynamic floating lumbar support, with a curved magnetic head pillow.
- High density memory foam seat, listed as medium firm.
- 4D armrests, a 90° to 149° recline and up to 14° of rocking.
- DuraGen leatherette upholstery in black, on an aluminum alloy wheelbase with a Class 4 gas lift.
- 60mm PU casters, which are larger than the Athena Pro’s 50mm.
The US store lists the Kraken Pro at $539, marked down from $649 at the time of writing. Blacklyte also lists free shipping, 30 day returns and a warranty of up to 5 years.
How to Choose
- Choose the Athena Pro if you want the fabric option, a built in 4 way lumbar and the lower starting price of $499.
- Choose the Kraken Pro if the floating lumbar design and curved head pillow appeal to you and leatherette suits your space.
- Want a team look? The editions are built on the Athena Pro, so that is the chair to browse.
Blacklyte lists both as a regular fit, one size fits most, so check the dimensions on each product page if you are particularly tall or compact.
Atlas Lite or Atlas Desk?
Blacklyte sells two standing desks, and the real difference comes down to lighting versus flexibility. The Atlas Desk has built in LED lighting that syncs to your setup. The Atlas Lite skips the lighting and gives you more sizes, more colors and more memory presets.
Atlas Lite Standing Desk
The Atlas Lite is Blacklyte’s sit stand desk without the built in lighting. It suits people who want a straightforward height adjustable desk for gaming or work, with a cable tray included. It is also the desk that appeared with the Athena Pro at player setups during the StarLadder Budapest Major in November 2025, and independent reviewers at TechRadar, CGMagazine, Gaming Trend and ProSettings were positive about its build and cable management.
- Four sizes, from 47.2″ to 70.9″ wide, all 31.5″ deep.
- Three colors: Obsidian Black, Moonstone White and Natural Oak.
- Dual electric motors and 4 memory height presets, with a height range of 27.6″ to 46.1″.
- Rated for 220 lbs on the small and medium sizes and 265 lbs on the large and extra large.
- Cable management tray included, with a melamine laminate top over MDF.
The US product page lists the Atlas Lite at $599, marked down from $699 at the time of writing, with a choice of free gift. Blacklyte also lists free shipping and 30 day returns. Availability varies by size and color, and the white Large showed an estimated ship date of October 9, 2026.
Blacklyte Atlas Desk
The Atlas Desk is Blacklyte’s first generation standing desk and its lighting model, built for gamers who want the desk itself to be part of the setup. Its integrated LED lighting syncs to your setup through Blacklyte’s Atlas Driver software. It also has a heavier build than the Atlas Lite, with 3 stage legs and a faster lift.
- Integrated LED lighting, controlled through the Atlas Driver download.
- Dual electric motors, a 28.3″ to 53.9″ height range and a lift speed of 1.5″ per second.
- Integrated power supply column and cable management tray for a cleaner desktop.
- Rated for up to 275.6 lbs, with 2 memory height presets.
- One size, 59.1″ by 27.6″, in Obsidian Black.
The US store lists the Atlas Desk at $1,049, marked down from $1,299 at the time of writing. A choice of free gift was offered with orders, the estimated ship date showed October 9, 2026, and Blacklyte lists free shipping and 30 day returns.
Which Desk Matches Your Room
- Tight or narrow space: the Atlas Lite’s 47.2″ small size fits where the Atlas Desk’s single 59.1″ size may not.
- Lots of desk surface: the Atlas Lite goes up to 70.9″ wide.
- Want lighting on the desk itself: that is only on the Atlas Desk.
- Shared desk or several positions: the Atlas Lite stores 4 presets, against 2 on the Atlas Desk.
- Prefer a lighter or white setup: only the Atlas Lite comes in Moonstone White or Natural Oak.
Standard or Team Edition?
Blacklyte sells one chair in a long list of team and event versions, which is unusual. Alongside the standard colors, the US store lists editions for Team Liquid, Fnatic, Team Spirit, Rainbow Six, RLCS, the Austin and Budapest Majors, and the Wuchang Fallen Feathers game. Prices run from $439 to $599, against $499 for the standard Athena Pro. Each edition carries its own price and design, so the choice comes down to which look you want.
Athena Pro Team Vitality Edition
The Team Vitality Edition is the Athena Pro in a design made for fans of the French esports club. It follows the partnership announced in late April 2026, when Blacklyte became the official chair and desk partner for all nine Vitality rosters. Vitality’s announcement also mentioned co-design work and a co-branded retail line planned for the second half of 2026, so this is the first Blacklyte chair that ties directly to that deal.
- Built on the Athena Pro, with 4 way built in lumbar support.
- Dual magnetic head pillow and an upgraded dual layer memory foam seat.
- 4D armrests, a 90° to 149° recline and a Class 4 gas lift.
- DuraGen leatherette upholstery on an aluminum alloy wheelbase.
The US store lists the Team Vitality Edition at $599 at the time of writing, against $499 for the standard Athena Pro. The page shows free shipping, 30 day returns and a warranty of up to 5 years, with an estimated ship date of November 15, 2026. It also lists a choice of free gift with orders.
Note: I left out the product page’s “first 15 customers” head pillow offer and its 4.8 rating from 1,248 reviews. Neither is in the research report, and that rating doesn’t match Trustpilot’s 4.6 from 532 reviews. Confirm both on the live page before publishing.
Small Add Ons Worth a Look
- Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner, $29 each: care products for the leatherette chairs.
- Chair casters, sold in sets of 5: Soft Glide PU, Lockable Blade and Luminous Rollerblade.
- Atlas Monitor Arm, $99 (marked down from $149): a single screen arm made to pair with the Atlas desks.
- Atlas Dual Monitor Arm, $169 (marked down from $229): the two screen version.
Delivery, Returns and Warranty
Blacklyte states that shipping is free on all orders, that items typically ship within 1 to 2 business days, and that delivery takes 3 to 5 days after that. Returns are accepted within 30 days. The brand lists a warranty of up to 5 years, with the exact term shown on each product page, and it offers lifetime technical support.
Before you pay, check the estimated ship date on the product page. Timing varies by item, size and color, so that date is the one to plan around. At the time of writing, the Atlas Lite bundle page showed an estimated ship date of October 9, 2026.
Assembly is the other thing to plan for. Several owners describe putting their chair together in about 15 minutes, though some steps go more smoothly with a second person. Blacklyte publishes an installation guide to walk you through the build, and an aftercare page for looking after your chair or desk once it is set up.
What Owners Say
As of October 2, 2026, Blacklyte holds a 4.6 out of 5 TrustScore on Trustpilot, based on 532 reviews. Of those, 407 were left in the previous 12 months, so the rating reflects recent buyers rather than only early adopters.
Reviewers most often praise the build quality, how quickly the furniture goes together, and support teams that respond fast. Several mention comfort during long days of gaming or work.
Delivery is the area where experiences differ. Some owners received their order within days, while others describe longer waits or tracking updates that lacked detail. That variation is the reason to check the estimated ship date on the product page before you order.
Offers Running Right Now
At the time of writing, Blacklyte is running three offers on its US store. A banner promotes up to $130 off gaming chairs, and the sales page lists the same chair deals under “Select Gear.” Confirm the amount on the offer page, since it varies by chair.
New customers can also get $30 off their first chair or desk by subscribing with an email address. The discount applies to a first chair or desk purchase only, some items are excluded, and the full terms arrive in the welcome email.
The third offer is bundles. Blacklyte advertises savings of up to $373.99, and one example is the Essential Chair and Desk Bundle, which pairs an Athena Pro with an Atlas Lite. The page shows $133.99 in savings for that bundle. That figure combines a $50 bundle discount with free gifts, such as the Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner, counted at their listed values. Orders also come with a choice of free gift.
Offers and eligibility can change, so confirm everything on Blacklyte’s sales page before you order.

Blacklyte’s full range and current offers are on the official US store at blacklyte.com.
Summary
The article walked through Blacklyte’s two main chairs, the Athena Pro at $499 and the Kraken Pro at $539 (marked down from $649), along with its two standing desks, the Atlas Lite and the Atlas Desk at $1,049. It also covered the Team Vitality Edition, which sells at $599, plus delivery and warranty terms and the offers running when this was written, including $30 off a first chair or desk.
Two things set the brand apart. Blacklyte supplies chairs and desks to esports organizations, including BLAST across five titles and all nine Team Vitality rosters. It also sells the same chair in team and event editions priced from $439 to $599. On the product side, the Athena Pro builds 4 way lumbar support into the backrest, the Kraken Pro uses a floating lumbar design, and the Atlas Lite offers four sizes against the Atlas Desk’s built in lighting.
Two checks matter most before ordering. Read the estimated ship date on the product page, since timing varies by item, size and color. Then confirm the live price and any active offer, because Blacklyte’s own pages can show different figures for the same product.
